About the Artist

Angela Rose discovered her love of sculpture the moment that she was first permitted access to a kiln while attending high school in Streamwood, Illinois. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she studied under Ron Kovatch and earned her B.F.A. in ceramics. While in college she developed a love of process and a keen interest in the incorporation of new materials and techniques into ceramic works. After college, she widened her palette of available materials and techniques by working as an exhibit artist at Taylor Studios in Rantoul, Illinois, where she created museum models of animals and plants. She has since been incorporating these new practices into her work.

Angela currently works in mixed media. Her pieces typically include significant ceramic components combined with found objects. Her work is often figurative, and draws upon her fascination with dreams and the natural processes of decay, as well as her love of wildlife. Angela currently lives in Champaign, Illinois. Her work can be seen at the Cinema Gallery in nearby Urbana, Illinois.
